ABOUT THE
Program
La Casa de la Lectura is a virtual course offered by the Universidad Industrial de Santander’s library, composed of four digital platforms: Multiskills, Odilo University, Lectura 360, and Bibliotele. Its purpose is to provide individuals interested in improving their reading comprehension with access to the various activities offered in this course.
This initiative addresses the need to enhance the performance of students and professionals in the generic module of critical reading. Additionally, it recognizes the importance of adopting new learning methods (ICTs) to achieve higher-quality education. Therefore, these platforms aim to meet challenges such as critical reading skills and familiarity with new learning technologies.

Platform
Multiskills
Platform in charge of performing critical reading diagnostic tests, which take about one hour and 30 minutes, and are adjusted according to the ICFES, therefore, it consists of 35 questions, of which 9 are local reading, 14 are global reading and 12 are critical reading.

ODILIO University
A platform that allows the University Community to find a great variety of books, podcasts, audiobooks or learning experiences. These learning experiences are a “plus” where teachers can generate different activities, for example, the “learning path” or the “book club”.
Access Odilo University by filling out the UIS Virtual Library credentials, this allows you to enjoy any of its contents (books, podcasts, audiobooks and public learning experiences). However, the critical reading lessons designed by the Library will be in a private “learning path”, with the objective that students who want to access make the respective registration in the “Experiencia ODILO” button, which allows better control of the fulfillment of the activities and adjust the lesson to the needs of that group.

Lectura360
Lectura360 focuses on the comprehensive development of students through effective reading, aiming not only for basic comprehension but also for the ability to establish connections and critically evaluate information. This tool facilitates critical thinking by enabling students to move from literal understanding to deeper reflection, thereby fostering analysis and independence in their learning.
Additionally, it prepares students to tackle both academic and professional challenges by helping them understand texts from various perspectives. Its features include a reading and evaluation bank, personalized feedback, unlimited practice opportunities, and statistical and institutional reports.

Bibliotele
Bibliotele is the innovative digital audiovisual platform for libraries, offering an unparalleled selection of Spanish-language content carefully curated for its cultural, academic, and historical value. Our mission is to make culture and education accessible to everyone.
Within La Casa de la Lectura, this platform aims to screen the film adaptation of the course’s central book. Watching a movie based on a book can enhance reading comprehension by making it easier to visualize characters and events, providing additional context, and enabling a deeper analysis of the characters and plot. To maximize the adaptation’s benefits, the book will first be read dynamically on Odilo University, and at the end of the course, the movie will be screened.
